Boys and Girls Track & Field

• Tryouts –
  • There are no tryouts for track & field.
  • Everyone who comes out will make the team.
• Practices –
  • First practice will be Monday, February 12
  • Practices will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00-5:30 pm

• Meets –
  • All meets will take place on Thursdays or Saturdays.
  • All Thursday meets will take place at Thunderbird HS and all Saturday meets will take place at Apollo HS.
  • The championships are also scheduled for a Saturday.
  • A formal meet schedule will be distributed.

Girls Basketball

• Tryouts –
  • Tryouts will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 13 & Thursday, Feb. 15 from 3:45-5:15
  • Everyone must attend all try-out sessions & all try-out sessions are closed to everyone except players and coaches.
  • We are anticipating having two teams. We will do our best to keep everyone who comes out on the team. We will start with one team and then form additional teams as registration demands. If we have too many players to have only one team and at the same time too few players to form an additional team no additional team will be formed, and cuts may have to be made.
• Practices –
  • Practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The exact times will be announced after tryouts once the number of teams is determined.
• Games –
  • Game schedules are TBD and will mainly be played during the week; but some games may be played on Saturdays.
• Location –
  • Tryouts, practices, and home games will all take place in our school gym.

Who may participate?

• Track & Field – 5th-8th graders

• Basketball – 6^th-8^th graders

Please carefully note that, unfortunately, 5th graders are not eligible to participate in basketball.

Registration Info

• BEFORE going to the registration website, please go to and carefully read the below given link that applies to you as much has changed from last year –

• Registration helps for families who did not participate last year or in Fall or Winter sports this year – NEW FAMILIES
• Registration helps for families who did participate last year – RETURNING FAMILIES

• The NPX Athletic website is https://greatheartsnorthphoenixathletics.org/

• Go there and click on the blue box entitled “Online Registration” which is on the right-hand side in order to register.
• Please disregard the Brainbook and Opioid Course requirement. It is only for high schoolers.

• Please note that all steps of the registration process are to be done electronically. No hard copies of any forms will be accepted.
• All participants must be fully registered, including completed physical, and fully paid in order to participate.
  • For quick, affordable, and reliable physicals please go to any NextCare – Urgent Care. They are the AIA sponsor for Sports Physicals. You can schedule an appointment online at a location near you and the cost only $25. The website is https://nextcare.com/.

• Registration deadline is at 6 pm on Thursday, February 8.  

This will be strictly enforced. All registrations received after 6 pm on Thursday, Feb. 8 will not be processed until the evening of Monday, February 12, making the participant ineligible to participate on Monday, February 12.

Payment Info

• Please note that payment alone does not constitute registration. If you only go online and pay and do not complete the above-mentioned registration process, your child will not be eligible to participate until the registration has been fully completed.
• Payment is done at www.northphoenixprep.configio.com  
• The fees for middle school sports are $250.
• The payment portal is now open.
  • All payments are due on or before Wednesday, February 21.
  • Failure to pay on or before Wednesday, February 21 will result in a participant being ineligible to participate until payment is received.
